Product
Biofibers Capital Group, LLC (BFCG) has 2 divisions: Fibers and Chemicals. This summary is specific to a
particleboard factory to be located near Paincourtville, LA (USA).
Operations
BFCG has developed intellectual property, with the intention of manufacturing, eco-friendly, zero
formaldehyde particleboard using agricultural waste fibers (e.g., sugar cane bagasse) in a sustainable
value chain. BFCG will install a CompakUK twin-line system to produce over 600,000 particleboard
panels per year. CompakUK has over 30 years experience making and installing over 30 of these
systems worldwide. The LA factory will create over 100 full and part time jobs. Collocating near one of
the 11 sugar mills in LA will provide 100% of the required feedstock. Close proximity to Interstate I-10,
the Santa Fe freight railroad line and New Orleans harbor freight terminal provide excellent
transportation logistics support.
Risks
The primary risk in southern Louisiana is environmental risk from hurricanes and flooding. BFCG will
ensure that all construction meets local and national building codes for these conditions. All other risks
along the value chain have been mitigated.
Management
BFCG executive management team has a wide range of experience across research & development,
commercial, industrial and agricultural operations. The executive team includes engineers and project
managers with extensive experience in public works, municipal, and chemical/civil/mechanical
engineering projects in various countries. There is also extensive experience by the Research &
Development team in developing intellectual property that is not only already patented, but ready for
immediate commercialization.
Financials
BFCG is seeking a total of $21.5 million which will cover all major capital and operating expenses during
the first 2 years to achieve full commercial operations. This includes: preliminary studies; land surveys
and blueprints; facilities construction; capital equipment; auxiliary and ancillary machinery; and balance
of plant assets. This will financially facilitate the factory becoming fully operational and generating
revenues within 2 years from start.
