From: Group 2 Date: March 17, 2016 Subject: Laser Targeting System Final Report Consensus Introduction This is a response to the request of finalizing the report on testing and quality control of the laser system embedded in the tanks. Peter Manley requested us to provide a report on the testing of the system without mentioning the small failure which will be discussed in this memorandum. Our response was a personal email explaining why we will not file the report. System Issues The Laser Targeting System (LTS) has shown signs of system errors that may result in death in certain situations. The error results from operator fatigue in certain conditions. However, these conditions that cause this error parallels the conditions we see in our current wars. These issue still can be massaged out before the contract due date. Report Peter Manley requested his team (us) to exclude the Laser Targeting System errors in our final report to be given to the recipients along with the product. He wants this error to excluded to have an early delivery of the product. This comes as a shock to us because Peter has never asked us to define our own ethics. However, we as a team have decided that we do not want to continue with the final report because it violates our morals. Conclusion Our team wants to continue testing to eliminate this error so no loss of life occurs. We bring this to your attention so you may take the necessary action in order to proceed with this report and future ones as well. We do appreciate your attention and hope you may help us reach an agreement quickly. Sincerely, Group 2
