Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED A RESCUE SYSTEM/PLAN?
Yes, OSHA 1926.502(20) states that The
employer shall provide for prompt rescue of
employees in the event of a fall or shall
assure that employees are able to resue
themselves.
WHAT IS A PROMPT RESCUE?
OSHA points to research indicating that
suspension in a fall arrest device can result in
unconsciousness followed by death in less
than 30 minutes. An Air Force study shows
that volunteers suspended in harnesses
experienced adverse health effects in as little
as 12 to 15 minutes. Some safety experts say
damage can be done in as little as 5 or 6
minutes.

HOW DOES THE RAPTOR RESCUE SYSTEM

WORK?
The Raptor Rescue System is designed to
lower or raise a fallen worker to a safe area so
medical treatment can be administered. After
a fall has occurred, lower the Engagement
Arm Lock into position and release the cable
lowering to the fallen worker. Once the cable
has been properly attached you may begin to
lower or raise the worker. One man can work
the winch simply because of its 5 to 1 gear
reduction.
The Raptor Rescue System was designed to fit on

all of the existing LES Raptor Mobile Fall
Protection Carts.
Use The Raptor Rescue Retrieval System Along with the I.C.E.
Station platform to ensure the safest regards in fall protection,
retrieval, first aid, and jobsite safety.

ADD-ONS: SRL-Tray
New in 2013, the SRL-Tray is designed to eliminate
damage to Roof membrane, as well as the damage
caused to SRLs due to being laid over improperly
while in use with any LES Raptor Mobile Fall
Protection Carts.
The SRL should be positioned on its edge, rather

than laid flat, to prevent uneven spooling of the
lifeline and to benefit retraction. DBI-SALA
The SRL-Tray is a spring loaded tray that easily
fastens on any existing Raptor Fall Protection carts.
According to the Manufacturers Guidelines to SRLs,

when using said equipment in horizontal or near
horizontal applications:

Raptor Rail Options

The RaptorRail is designed and built to keep your
workers safe while enhancing their productivity. It can
be installed quickly and easily, yet is adaptable to
virtually any situation. The RaptorRail crate and cart
systems allow the components to be hoisted to the
desired location in a single lift and be accessible at any
location. The swiveling base allows finish work to the
edge without removing the safety of the system. The
base post and the parapet clamps have rubber pads to
protect the building facade.
RaptorRail Roofing Base Systems can be

installed quickly and easily, and are adaptable to
even the most demanding situation.

Falls from roof tops, skylights, holes and other

openings are a significant hazard, often resulting in
serious injury or death. To help prevent this hazard,

guardrail system. This system exceeds OSHA
standards 1926.502 for fall protection, is installed
without roof penetrations ensuring a 100% watertight roof system, incorporates a unique offset
upright design to keep workers away from the edge,

Integrated Lightning Protection

Integrated Lightning Protection (ILP) is designed for use with all Leading Edge Safety Permanent
Guardrail Systems. ILP installs quickly and easily, and the complete system can be left in place during
future roof projects without compromising worker safety or your buildings lightning protection. The
aluminum top rail and cast aluminum post cap and rail caps replace unsightly cables cluttering the roof
perimeter. Meets and exceeds IBC 2006 requirements, OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.23 and is UL Listed.

Wall Mount Guardrail System

The Wall Mount Guardrail System provides
permanent full-perimeter fall protection with a
unique design that allows water-tight installation
using a dual-plate mounting system. The dualplate mounting system allows roof flashing to be
installed over the base plate and creates a
compression seal around mounting studs when
the upright plate is attached. Wall Mount
Guardrail are available in powder coat colors to
match Kynar sheet metal or other building
components and RAL colors. This guardrail meets
and exceeds OSHA Standards.
