Personal review and critics on the short story Two Kinds by Amy Tan.

By: Tasah
Two Kinds by Amy Tan is a touching mother-daughter dynamics short
story. The story itself was told by Jing-Mei (role of a daughter) as the narrator,
telling about her past life with her mother. In my opinion, this story doesnt only
shows about moral values and the different cultures of American-Chinese
lifestyle involving American Dreams but also shows something else to the reader.
It shows the importance of understanding between mothers dreams and her
daughters dreams. As for me, this story has a strong impact on my life which
had made me wondered which one of the kinds of daughter am I. Being able to
make me (readers) reflecting on my past, I think Amy Tan had done a good job
with this short story.
