See attached for narrative.Islais Creek MTA Motor Coach Facility PH It 1301 Cesar Chavez Street, San Francisco, CA 94122 Project Summary Narrative General Description ‘The Islais Creek MTA Motor Coach Facility is a two-story 66,000 sf new construction facility to accommodate articulated bus maintenance and operations functions. ‘SFMTA Islais Creek Motor Coach Maintenance & Operations Facility is located on a ten acre site in southeast San Francisco at the comer of Cesar Chavez Street and Indiana Street with shoreline frontage along the restored Islais Creek Channel and public shoreline plaza on the south, and backing up to the 1-280 off-ramp on the west. Overall Design Parameters ‘The first floor level north is used for bus maintenance functions, comprising of 2-story high clearstory bus service bays, industrial brake and welding shops, bus wash, storage, restrooms and maintenance office with elevator and stair access to second floor offices, and accessory spaces. ‘The first floor level south provides public access lobby, conference room, public restrooms and is immediately adjacent to the Islais Creek Channel and public shoreline plaza. The second floor level includes supervisor and administration offices, lockers, showers, toilets, gilley room (operator's lounge), and lunchroom facilities with outdoor terrace for both the maintenance and operations staffs. The project will be pursuing GBCI LEED Gold certification ‘Thermal insulation: Windows and curtain wall systems will be thermally-broken. Glazing will be one-inch thick with low-e coating. ‘The building exterior walls consist of corrugated zinc siding panels with continuous 4” mineral wool insulation that provides a high R value and will also act as an effective air barrier to increase energy efficiency. Indoor Air Quality and Efficiency: Building materials are carefully selected to control sources for potential 1AQ pollutants such ureaformaldehyde resins, emissions of VOCs; and processes used in project construction in order to attain superior IAQ. Flooring materials are kept to @ minimum opting for the majority of spaces to have a polished concrete slab. Where additional flooring is installed, thru-color large porcelain panels provide no-VOC's, are energy efficient, abuse, stain and mold resistant with washable non-absorbent solid surfaces. And, resilient rubber floor tiles are FloorScore Certified, low VOC. Energy Efficiency Water use reduction will be achieved with low GPF high efficiency plumbing fixtures. Photovoltaic roof panel system will provide renewable energy source.
