Flood frequency records on a river have been collected for seven years staring from 1951 to
1967 and the peak values of the floods observed during each of these seventeen years are
tabulated as below.
Estimate the magnitude of flood having frequency equal (a) 80 years (b) 400 years by using
Gumbels probability method by analytical as well as graphical method.
