MCA regulates companies act 1956 & 2013, and other acts connected thereto to regulate the

functioning of corporate sector. It also exercises supervision over Institute of Chartered


Accountants of India(ICAI), Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) and the Institute of
Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) to manage the professions concerned.

Minister of Corporate Affairs is the topmost head of this ministry. Secretary is the topmost head
on the administrative matters and exercises his power through further delegation.

It was established in october, 2003 and deals with

Competition commission of India:- Established in 2002 and addresses pratices having
adverse effect on competition.

Indian Institute of corporate affairs:- Contributes towards capacity building and training
in various subjects and matters relevant to corporate regulation and governance such as corporate
and competition law, accounting and auditing issues, compliance management, corporate
governance, business sustainability through environmental sensitivity and social responsibility,
e-Governance and enforcement etc.
