CHAPTER - 1

INTRODUCTION
1.1. What is html?

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is used to create document on the World

Wide Web. It is simply a collection of certain key words called Tags thata re
helpful in writing the document to be dispayed using a browser on Internet. It is
a platform independent language that can be used on any platform such
asWindows, Linux, Macintosh, and so on.
To display a document in web it is
essential to mark-up different elements (headings, paragraphs, tables, and so on)
of the document with the HTML tags. To view a mark-up document, user has to
open the document in a browser. A browser understands and interpret the HTML
tags identifies the structure of the document and makes decision about
presentation (how the part look) of the document. HTML also provides about
tags to make the document look attractive using graphics, font size and colors.
User can make a link to the other document or the different section of the same
document by creating Hypertext Links also known as Hyperlinks.

1.2 DATABASE

A Database is a structured collection of data. The data are typically

organised to model relevant aspects of reality (for example, the
availability of rooms in hotels), in a way that supports requiring this
information for example, finding a hotel with vacancies)
The term database is a correctly applied to the data and their supporting
data structures, and not to the database management system (DBMS). The
database data collection with DBMS is called a database system.
The term database system implies that the data are managed to some level
of quality (measured in terms of accuracy, availability, usability, and
resilience) and this in turn often implies the use of a general purpose
database management system (DBMS). A general purpose DBMS is
typically a complex software system that meets many usage requirements
to properly maintain its databases which are often large and complex.
This is specially the case with client server, near-real time transactional
systems, in which multiple users have access to data, data is concurrently
entered and enquired for in ways that preclude single-thread batch
processing. Most of the complexity of those requirements are still present
with personal, desktop-based database system.
Well known DBMSs include FoxPro, IBM DB2, Linter, Microsoft
Acces, Microsoft SQL Server, MYSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQLite

1.3

SYSTEM STUDY

Information systems projects originate from many reasons: to achieve greater

speed in processing data, better accuracy and improved consistency, faster
information retrieval, integration of business areas, reduced cost and better
3managers, senior executives and system analysis.

Sometimes the real origin is an outside source, such as a government agency

which stipulated a systems requirements the organization must meet. When the
request is made, the first systems activity, the preliminary investigations, begins.
The activity has three parts: request clarification, feasibility study and request
approval.

NEED FOR THE PROPOSED SYSTEM:

Feature and Benefits:
Providing security
Low cost
Basic computer knowledge required
Configurable and extensible application UI design
The proposed system can be used even by the nave users and it does not
require any educational level, experience, and technical expertise in
computer field but it will be of good use if the user has the good
knowledge of how to operate a computer.

1.4

FEASIBILITY STUDY:

.Feasibility study begin when a problem is identified by the managers &

users after understanding the system, technical, economical and
operational factors of the system

TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY:

During this study the analyst determines whether the propose system can
be developed and implemented using the existing technology or some
new technology may be required. The main objective of technical
feasibility is to determine whether the project is technically feasible or
not.

ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY:
It evaluated the financial aspects of the project by performing cost benefit
analysis and accessing the benefits of the system. If the benefits are found
the analyst continue the assessment of the proposed system.

OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY:
It looks at the issue that whether the system can operate in a way i.e the
user want it new or to integrate with the existing system.

CHAPTER - 2
SYSTEM REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS
2.1. Project Category
The main aim to design this project is to provide graphical user interface
that helps the user to access information without any complexity and with
minimum operation. We categorize this project for commercial usage.
This document also describes the various interfaces i.e. the hardware,
software and the user interfaces. Along with that the document also
describes the various functions and some general constraints. This project
is cost efficient as well as highly optimized as per the requirement of user.

Assumptions and Dependencies:

We assume all users have basic knowledge. We also assume that the users
will be given software training, documentation and reference material

2.2.METHODOLOGY ADOPTED FOR PROJECT

Methodology is generally a guideline system for solving a problem, with
specific components such as phases, tasks, methods, techniques and tools.
It can be defined also as follows:
1.

"The analysis of the principles of methods, rules, and postulates

employed by a discipline";
2.

"The systematic study of methods that are, can be, or have been

applied within a discipline"

3.

"The study or description of methods".

A methodology can be considered to include multiple methods, each as

applied to various facets of the whole scope of the methodology.

We adopted methodology of water fall model:

2.3

Fig. 1: Water Fall Model

2.3

WATERFALL MODEL

The waterfall model is a sequential design process, often used in software

development processes, in which progress I seen as flowing steadily downwards
(like a waterfall) though the phases of Conception, Initiation, Analysis,
Construction, Testing, Production/Implementation, and Maintenance.
The waterfall development model originates:In the manufacturing can construction industries, highly structured physical
environments in which after-the-fact chanfes are prohibitively costly, if not
impossible. Since no firmal software development methodologies existed at the

time, this hardware-oriented model was simply adapted for software

development.

CHAPTER -3
DATABASE DESIGN
3.1 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
3.1.1

ER_DIAGRAM

In software engineering, an entity relationship mode (ER model) is a data

model for describing a database in an abstract way. This article refers to the
techniques proposed in Peter Chens 1976 paper. However, variant of the idea
existed previously, and have been devised subsequently such as super type and
subtype data entities and commonality relationships.
An ER model is an abstract way of describing a database. In the case of a
relational database, which stores data in tables, some of the data in these tables
point to data in other tables for instance, your entry in the database could point
to several entries for each of the phone numbers that are yours.
The ER model would say that you are an entity , and each phone number is an
entity, and the relationship between you and the phone numbers is has a phone
number. Diagrams created to design these entities and relationships are called
entity relationship diagrams or ER diagrams.
Using the three schema approach to software engineering, there are three levels
of ER models that may be developed.

3.2

COMPONENTS OF ER DIAGRAM

It is a detailed logical representation of data for an organization and uses three

main constructs.
Entities Major categories of data and are represented by rectangles.
Attributes Characteristics of entities and are listed within entity
rectangles
Relationship Business relationships between entities and are
represented by line.

SOFTWARE DESIGN
Software design is the process by which an agent creates a specification of
a software artifact, intended to accomplish goals, using a set of primitive
components and subject to constraints. Software design may refer to either "all
the

activities

involved

in

conceptualizing,

framing,

implementing,

commissioning, and ultimately modifying complex systems" or "the activity

following requirements specification and beforeprogramming, as ... a stylized
software engineering process."
Software

design

usually

involves

problem

solving

and

planning

a software solution. This includes both low-level component and algorithm

design and high-level, architecture design.
Software design is the process of implementing software solutions to one or
more set of problems. One of the important parts of software design is
the software requirements analysis (SRA). It is a part of the software
development process that lists specifications used in software engineering. If the
software is "semi-automated" or user centered, software design may
involve user experience design yielding a story board to help determine those
specifications. If the software is completely automated (meaning no user or user
interface), a software design may be as simple as a flow chart or text describing
a planned sequence of events. There are also semi-standard methods
like Unified Modeling Language and Fundamental modeling concepts. In either
case, some documentation of the plan is usually the product of the design.
Furthermore, a software design may beplatform-independent or platformspecific, depending on the availability of the technology used for the design.

4.1

USER CLASS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

There are three types of user of this software1. General Public

2. Customers
3. Administrator
1. General public can use the system to see the product, their prices and quantity
available.
General user cannot buy the product
2. Customers are using for viewing and buying the products.
Customers can also write feedbacks for products and services
3. Administrator can see the daily sell. Can also see the feedback given by the
customer.
Administrator maintain the deliveries.

4.2

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The system must provide the following functionalities1)Keeping the records of admission of customers.
2)Keeping the records of products.
Storing the feedback given by the customer.
Keeping details about the product whether it is delivered or not.
Storing the items selected by the customer in the temporary
storage.

4.3

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

In order to maintain an acceptable speed at maximum number of uploads

allowed from a particular customer will be any number of users can access the
system at any time. Also connections to the servers will be based on criteria of
attributes of the user like his loacation, and server will be working whole 24 x 7
times.

4.4

NON FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Following Non-functional requirements will be there in the insurance on

internet:
(i)

Secure access of confidential data (customers death).

(ii)

24 x 7 availabilty.

(iii)

Better component design to get better performance at peak time.

(iv)

Flexible service based architecture will be highly desirable for future

extension. Non-functional requirements define system properties
and constraints. It arise through user needs, because of budget constraints

or organizational policies, or due to the external factors such as safety

regulations, privacy registration and so on.

4.5 EXTERNAL INTERFACE REQUIREMENTS

4.5 SOFTWARE INTERFACE :Software required to make working of product is:1. Operating System: Window XP/Vista/7 or later version, which supports

TEST REPORT
Executing a program with the intent of finding errors is called testing. Testing is
vital to the success of any system. Testing is done at different stages within the
development phase. System testing makes a logical assumption that if all parts
of the system are correct, the goals will be achieved successfully. Inadequate
testing or no testing at all leads to errors that may come up after a long time
when correction would be extremely implementation. The testing of the system
was done on both artificial and live data. In order to test data test cases are
developed. Following are the various methods that are employed for testing
Types of Testing

1) Unit Testing
2)Integration Testing
3) Functional Testing
4)System Testing

Program Testing

System Testing

System Documentation

User Acceptance Testing

CHAPTER 6
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Being the leader of my team I was given the following responsibilities:

Divide the work among the team members are: Tamanna, Bikramjeet
singh, Divya ,Neeraj.

Divya and Neeraj were involved in requirement gathering with other

team members.

Tamanna was responsible for coding, designing, implementation and unit

testing of modules.

Bikramjeetsingh was involved in combining all modules of the

professional training website

CHAPTER - 7
CONCLUSION & ACHIEVEMENTS
The reason to have professional training system is to providing professional
courses, vocational training, improve skills through internet and institutions
itself. it also saves time of students who do not want to waste time going here
and there.
The project is still going on. We have released the first stable version as per our
project schedule & the work on the next version is in progress.
Achievements

The project has been an excellent learning opportunity for me and has
helped me in understanding and developing a live project.

Technical Knowledge is something one can always get sitting at home

and devouring books. But being a part of a team which is working on a
deliverable Live Project means a lot more other things apart from the technical
knowledge gained.

I learnt to implement hardware devices in the system.

I learned its the team work and working in tandem with the team,
complimenting the team efforts that hold more priority than individual skills.

I learned how important deadlines are, and that clients are like gods, we
just have to provide them what they want .The ultimate goal is to meet clients
requirements.

I learned to take responsibilities and to handle the work pressure.
