Dear UNM Jobs,
I would like to apply for the Childcare Assistant position being offered
through the University of New Mexico jobs website. My current study in
psychology at the university displays my interest in exploring the human
intellect of all ages. My coaching job with Albuquerque Public Schools
demonstrates my experience with kids grades K-12.
In addition to my current study and work experience with APS, I also have
prior experience interacting with children of all backgrounds through
community service with my church. As a participant of church mission trips
we are challenged with tasks from building houses to cooking meals. In my
experience I have done not only these things but interacted with children on
reservations in Arizona and Leper colonies in the Bahamas.
Throughout my studies at the University of New Mexico in the psychology
department I have learned the importance of having an open mind and have
been introduced to the many social behaviors humans posess and why as
well as how the brain is constructed and what causes us to do what we do.
Having this knowledge and insight will undoubtedly benefit me in caring for
and understanding children of all ages.
