Fixing CMC Agent Sites with Intermittent Connectivity Loss

The Issue:
Some sites running Windows 7 and CMC Agent are experiencing intermittent connectivity losses,
wherein the site appears online for a brief time, then falls offline. The CMC Development team
has been looking in to this and have been able to determine this is caused by the cmcinst.exe file
becoming Read Only. This does not happen to all sites with this combination of products and, as
yet, CMC Dev team has been unable to determine a cause, although they continue to investigate.
The Fix Options:

1) If you are able to connect to the site in the time it is online, simply:
a. path to c:\ program files\radiant systems\cmc\update\cmcinst.exe\explorer .
b. right-click on cmcinst.exe, then Properties
c. unflag for Read Only and the site will then remain online
2) If you are unable to connect to the site:
a. highlight the BOH in CMC and open File Manager
b. find the Go bar, located at the bottom of the file listing of the BOH
c. type in c:\progra~1\radian~1\cmc\update and click Go.
d. When the site next comes online, edit cmc.exe to not be Read Only.

After you have done this, the site should stay online. If it does go back offline more than two
cycles, restart CMC Agent.
