Education and growth rate in Peru

INTRODUCTION
If we ask ourselves what is the best way for Peru to grow and we look at
historically data, we will see that the primary mining sector has been on the
focus of attention, composing mostly traditional exports, but we should see
also that the external context helped us too much to grow.
Fortunately now there is much empirical and theoretical evidence that there
are other ways to grow and one of them is through increased productivity
achieved, among others, by a better human capital that is possible, among
others, in the medium and long term by greater investment in education
both in preschool, school stages and working stage, favoring a proper
development of knowledge and skills in the first two and capabilities in the
last stage.
CONCLUSION
Despite the undeniable economic process of Peru in the last 25 years most
areas, including education, that affect productivity are still lagging behind.
Compared with regional and world leaders, there is a big gap in economic
growth and life quality of the population that must be reduced. We can do
the right things, particularly about education, literature recommends that
the right strategy requires investing more and with a better criterion.

Si nos preguntamos cul es la mejor manera para que el Per crezca y nos
fijamos en la data histrica, veremos que el sector primario minero ha
estado en el foco de atencin, componiendo en su mayora las
exportaciones tradicionales, pero debemos ver tambin que el contexto
externo nos ayud mucho para crecer.
Afortunadamente ahora hay mucha evidencia emprica y terica que hay
otras maneras de crecer y una de ellas es a travs de una mayor
productividad alcanzada entre otros, por un mejor capital humano que es
posible, entre otros, en el mediano y largo plazo mediante una mayor
inversin en la educacin, tanto en las etapas preescolar, escolar como en
la etapa laboral, favoreciendo tanto un adecuado desarrollo de
conocimientos y habilidades en las dos primeras, as como capacidades en
la ltima etapa.
CONCLUSIN
A pesar del proceso econmico innegable del Per en los ltimos 25 aos, la
mayora de las reas, incluyendo la educacin, que afectan la productividad
han quedado rezagadas. En comparacin con los lderes regionales y
mundiales, existe una gran brecha en el crecimiento econmico y en la
calidad de vida de la poblacin que debe ser reducida. Podemos hacer las

cosas bien, particularmente acerca de la educacin, la literatura recomienda

que la estrategia correcta requiere invertir ms y con un mejor criterio.
