Homework

Week of September 26, 2016

Directions: Read the homework for the appropriate night. Select to do the
regular homework or the challenge homework. After your child completes the
days homework, sign to verify that the homework was completed. Return all
homework back to your childs teacher on Friday. Remember that homework is
primarily given to instill responsibility in your 1st grader. Please use discretion
while working with your child. We want your child to be challenged and at the
same time feel successful. Have your child work at his/her ability. Thanks!

Monday- Arrange your spelling words in ABC order. Complete synonym

worksheet. (sheet attached)

Tuesday- Write the number 93 on a piece of paper. Underline the tens place.

Circle the ones place. Draw base ten blocks to represent the number (sticks of
tens, ones). Repeat with 34, 48, and 81.
Challenge: Complete the above activity with numbers greater than 100. What
happens when you have ten sticks of ten?

Thursday- Take a practice spelling test to see how well you will do! Write five
sentences using a spelling word in each one. Underline each spelling word.
