IMPORTANTSERVICELETTER
SUMMARY
QUEST AIRCRAFT RECOMMENDS THAT EACH OPERATOR EXAMINE THIS SERVICE LETTER
IMMEDIATELY.
CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS
None
BACKGROUND
This service letter is to inform the customer
of a potential hazard associated with the
main landing gear tires. Inside of the
Goodyear tires are inspection stickers
that are to be removed when installing a
tube. Recent inspection revealed that
these inspection stickers had not been
removed at assembly as recommended
by the manufacturer. There is a danger
that the sticker interacts with the tube
causing a chemical reaction which could
result in a loss of tire pressure.
ACTION
A one-time inspection of the main
landing gear tires is required. Follow the
steps in this service letter.
EFFECTIVITY
All Kodiak aircraft with 29 Goodyear
main landing gear tires.
The tires indentified below are known to
have the stickers in the tire.
COMPLIANCE
Quest Aircraft recommends that this
inspection be done at the earliest
opportunity, not to exceed 10 days
after receipt of this service letter.
INDUSTRY SUPPORT INFORMATION
If the customer finds that the tire matches
the criteria of the service letter, Quest
Aircraft will supply the customer with a
new tube for the tire.
