0 Installation Instructions
Purpose
The purpose of these instructions is to upgrade or install the DC3535 PWS Software.
Prerequisite
PWS Laptop:
Golden Image 8.1or Higher (If 8.1 or higher is installed there will be both Searchlight and Contents button in
the menu bar of Internet Explorer.)

Procedure
1. Close all applications.
2. Insert the DC3535 SW CD into your CD-ROM drive.
3. If you have the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool installed on your PWS, launch the tool and select About on the
tool. If the PWS Version is already at 1.0 and the DC3535_DB version is 1.0 then the current software is already
installed and it is ok to exit this procedure.
4. If you have an earlier version of the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool installed on your PWS it must be
uninstalled before installing this version. Use the control panel Add/Remove programs to remove Xerox DC3535
PWS Tools.
WARNING: If the previous PWS version is not completely removed you will have problems upgrading
machines and using the diagnostics tool.
5. Enter Windows Explorer; select your CD-ROM drive (usually G:) and double click on DC3535 PWS v1_0 Folder
and then double click Setup.exe. NOTE: If extensions don't show up on your PC, use the setup file with the
computer ICON next to it.
6. A welcome frame appears. If any Windows programs are running, choose Cancel, close all programs and go back
to step 5. If no Windows programs are running, click 'Next.'
7. A Software License Agreement frame appears. Read it and answer Yes. If you accept the agreement the
installation will continue.
8. A User Information frame appears. Click 'Next' to approve the default or type in the information and then select
'Next.'
9. The Start Copying files frame appears. Select "Next." NOTE: DO NOT CHANGE FOLDER NAMES!
10. Install shield will start copying files.
11. The Setup Complete frame will appear. Click on Finish.
12. After installation of version 1.0 of the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool run the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool
select Create New DB, click on the About button on the menu bar and select About DC 3535 PWS. Verify
that the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool version is 1.0 and the DC3535_DB Version is 1.0. NOTE: If the
DC3535_DB Version is not 1.0, exit the DocuColor 3535 Diagnostics Tool, use Windows explorer to go to
c:\xerox, select and delete the DC3535 PWS folder and all its contents and return to step 5 of this procedure.
