Perseus married Andromeda and sailed to Seriphos where his mother Danae and the fisherman Dictys were imprisoned by the cruel King Polydectes. When Perseus suddenly entered with the head of Medusa during a feast, Polydectes did not believe he possessed it until he watched Perseus, upon which he was turned to stone. Perseus and Andromeda then left for the games in Larissa, where Perseus accidentally killed his grandfather Acrisius with a discus, fulfilling the oracle's warning that he would be killed by his grandson.

Perseus married Andromeda. Then they sailed to Seriphos. Polydectes, the
very cruel king, was still reigning. Danae, the mother of Perseus, and Dictys, the fisherman who had once saved her and Perseus, were prisoners. While Polydectes was eating food, Perseus suddenly entered. Look! he said I bring you the head of Medusa Not trusting these words, the king watched the youth, who was holding the head. Because of this Polydectes was turned to stone. Perseus and Andromeda left again. They went on the road to Larissa. The king was holding great games there. Perseus entered the discus contest. By chance the discus powerfully flew to kill an old man in the crowd. When he had left to go to Larissa, warned by the oracle, he was afraid lest he be killed by his grandson; the old man was Acrisius, the grandfather of Perseus.
