    Master.Ishaq, a 4-year-old male, underwent a haemogram test which showed microcytic anemia with a hemoglobin level of 11.2 grm% (normal range 12-14 grm%). The red blood cell count was 4.73 million/cumm and platelet count was 280,000 lak cells/cumm, both within normal limits. A peripheral smear revealed mild anisocytosis and hypochromasia of red blood cells with microcytosis noted. The white blood cell count was 4,800 cells/cumm (normal range 5000-15,000 cells/cumm) with a neutrophil percentage of 70% (normal range 30-54%).
