Abstract
As city planners, we have to design a plan for Houston to take up to one million refugees and
resettle them in a sustainable environment. This environment will have to have the necessary
resources to support one million people that are not adapted to this land. In order to move these
refugees, they will need a place to go; the question is, where? We used Ebscohost to find
documents that helped us research what we will need to house an extra million people. Our way
of making the project successful was figuring out the resources the location has and the area.
The problems we have to accommodate with are having enough resources for them, having
clean water for them to drink and open space for housing. The refugees will need, at least 600
acres. The certain processes to making the project work is by making clean water with
resources available for us as in dirt, charcoal and sand, also finding the history of the location
picked. The results that we established in this project came with positive and negative
outcomes. The outcome that we achieved halfway throughout our testing was being able to
produce clean water but later on coming to obstacles where our water changed. An impact we
appeared to have was able to discover a place for the refugees to settle in where space and
resources were available.
