NEW CRAYOLA HIGHLIGHTERS WILL HAVE KIDS SCREAMING FOR JOY
EASTON, Pa. Highlighters will no longer be reserved for college students cramming for
exams or busy office workers trying to organize their lives, due to a new product released by
Crayola LLC. The workers behind the Crayola name have created a line of highlighters
especially designed for childrens hands.
Crayolas Screamin Neons are washable highlighters designed specifically for
younger children in school. Both non-toxic and created with a patented washable formula,
this products ink is easily washed from hands, faces, and most childrens clothing. They also
feature a special rounded nib that allows for a smooth flow of ink without noise or squeaking.
Screamin Neons will be sold in packs of four colors: glowing green, neon yellow, hot
magenta, and electric blue. The suggested retail price of these packs is $1.99. Development
on these highlighters began after research conducted by the company revealed that children
start using highlighters around the age of 8 and then continue to use them throughout their
school careers. Some of the activities they use highlighters for include school papers, study
sheets, plays, maps and reports.
Crayola LLC. was founded by C. Harold Smith and Edwin Binney in 1885. Although
they are famous for their crayons, as tests reveal that the smell of Crayol crayons is one of the
20 most recognizable aromas to America adults, they also produce markers, watercolors,
tempera paints, chalk, clay, washable paints, and fabric paints. Screamin Neons will be the
next product to be added to that list.
