Marks: 25
Submission date: Before End Sem Exams
Self study assignments (15 marks)
Write a report for each of the following.
1. Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
2. Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
3. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Length: 5 pages (A4 size) each, 12 point font size, 1.5 line spacing, 25mm margin all around.
The report should be written properly with citations and references. At least 2 papers should be
read, analyzed and explained in the report.
The content of the report should be as follows
1. Basic concept
2. How the method works with an example
3. Analysis of the two papers
4. Conclusion
5. References
Modeling (5 marks)
Create a generalized version of the method discussed for reliability estimation of gun barrels. Use
an example of your choice to show in detail how the calculations will be done.
Programming (5 marks)
Write a user friendly program for assessing cost impact of different warranty policies for a product.
Note:
The assignments will be subjected to plagiarism check software. No more than 10% match will be
accepted. In case of doubts, please clarify by meeting me.
