Before World War 1 in the Austrian

Hungarian Empire
They had about 700 square kilometers of an empire
Similar to Germany, they had an industrial boom in the late
1800s
Austria-Hungary had a quite powerful modernised army, but
lacked communication as there were 11 different common
languages in the entire empire. So even though they had a good
army, they could not cooperate as well as others because of the
language barriers within generals.
The empire was a dual monarchy, which was formed by a merger
in 1867. (The empire was split into two)

On July 28, 1914, one month to the day after Archduke Franz
Ferdinand of Austria and his wife were killed by a Serbian
nationalist in Sarajevo, Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia,
effectively beginning the First World War.
There were 3 main ministries within the 2 halves of this empire
which were: War, Finance, and foreign relations.
