What if when | give breaths, they don't go in??? There are a couple reasons why breaths may not go in... e The airway was not opened properly (head tilt / chin lift) - try an initial retilt of the head and attempt breaths again ¢ The person's nose / mouth were not properly sealed - pinch nose / mouth to mouth ¢ An object is blocking the way - unconscious choking using compressions and breaths but adding a foreign object check after compressions Unconscious Choking Victim 4.
