CENTRAL ANGLE & INTERCEPTED ARC

I Objectives:
1. Define and identify a central angle and an intercepted arc.
2. Solve the measure of an angle and intercepted arc applying the theorems.
II Definition and Theorems:
A. Definition:
Central Angle- angle formed by two radii and whose vertex is the
center of the circle
Intercepted Arc- a broken part of the circle that is in the interior of the
central angle.
B. Theorems:
The sum of the measures of all central angles of a circle is 180.
The degree measure of the minor arc equals the measure of the
central angle.
The measure of the major arc is 360 minus the measure of the minor
arc with the
same endpoints.
The measure of the semicircle is 180.
