Vulnerability
It is not true that only artists understand art, for there are in every generation some
people who not only understand it but also enhance its reach by appreciation (Popova, 2016).
Art gives a completely different meaning to vulnerability by springing the artists longing to
bridge the truth and desire to capture vulnerability in the most powerful vision. In this world we
are born with vulnerability, we want to be protect ourselves from the pain and the discomfort as a
result of this we spend time to build defenses that surround us. Being feared or fearing others
drives us to build these defenses to keep us strong. Being vulnerable is a feeling most individuals
avoid or fight to steer away from, often because the feeling can impose a negative state of mind.
However; we also keep away the people that surround us with love, we become blind by it.
In order to demonstrate the act of vulnerability in a classroom I would create an activity
called The Belt of Truth. Students will be able to experience and express the state of being
vulnerable by telling students that you will be asking a series of questions that can be personal.
For each question that they are given and they feel like there question is related to them, they are
able to take a step forward to the line. However; students will also be allowed to stay in the same
spot if the question does not pertain to them. Here they are able to discover the most raw and
pioneering things of themselves. Students have the ability to and courage to create a lasting
change to allow themselves to open up and push the limits of vulnerability. By the end of the
game students will be able to feel vulnerable because being vulnerable is being brave. If being
brave is enough to put everything on the line, to vocalize your thought as the person that you are,

and wear your heart out openly with no one ever judging which can make a person fearful than
be fearless and allow yourself to be vulnerable in any way you would want to be.
