Lesson Overview
Before watching the video I felt that I did very well with presenting the information to the students. We reviewed
other lessons, activated prior knowledge, and used our own thoughts and ideas before really looking into the
content. I made sure that I told them the lesson outcomes because in the past that was something I struggled with. I
also made sure to let them know what I expected out of them and that was something I noticed did not make the
video cut.
After watching it, I was able to see that my students were engaged in the lesson and were able to use their
knowledge to make connections. I also liked that they participated as much as they did. A couple of students made
me realize that I need to be just a bit clearer when asking questions, or that sometimes I need to take a step back
and finish with one question before moving onto another. I also felt I could have done a better job at involving more
students in the discussion, but I couldnt stand there and let every student answer a question due to time.
With that being said, I thought I did a good job with this lesson. I felt that students had great understanding and they
were able to answer m questions, even if they were sometimes all over the place. I also thought that checking their
understanding before having them do the study guide reinforces the outcomes I wanted them to get out of the
lesson. I will, before teaching the next lesson, recap what we learn from this one. I also liked that I told them how
this information will connect with the next lesson. I also told them off camera how this information will be used on
their end of the unit assessment.
