The familiar sound of my alarm clock woke me up from my slumber.
The first ray of
sunlight had already penetrated through the curtains into my room. The sound of sparrows chattering signaled the beginning of another day. I usually woke up late on Sunday mornings and I spent a few blissful minutes lazing in bed. But, the sound of a mail carrier's van was enough to drag me out of my bed. I opened the door and saw a postman. I was fuming with anger and glared at him with my blazing eye for he had awakened me up from my sweet dreams. He immediately apologized and passed an envelope to me. I signed my name on the paper to receive the envelope. I was rather shocked and my eyes widened in surprised. Who had sent me this letter? I whispered to myself. That day was my birthday.
