educationandprotectionforinternationalstudents.
TheEducationServicesforOverseasStudents(ESOS)Act2000(opensinanewwindow)andtheNational
CodeofPractice(opensinanewwindow)forRegistrationAuthoritiesandProvidersofEducationandTraining
toOverseasStudents2007(NationalCode)providenationallyconsistentstandardsforprovidersofeducation
andtrainingforinternationalstudents.
Asaninternationalstudentonastudentvisa,youmuststudywithaninstitutionandinacoursethatis
registeredontheCommonwealthRegisterofInstitutionsandCoursesforOverseasStudents(CRICOS).
CRICOSregistrationguaranteesthatthecourseandtheinstitutionatwhichyoustudymeetthehighstandards
expectedbyinternationalstudents.YoucansearchforcoursesandinstitutionshereontheStudyinAustralia
website.
AlongwiththeESOSActandNationalCode,therearealsoregulatoryandqualityassuranceorganisationsfor
highereducationandVETinstitutions.Thesegovernmentorganisationsareresponsibleforregistration/re
registrationofinstitutionsandaccreditation/reaccreditationofcourses.Theseorganisationsare:
