The topic of interest for my research proposal is the impact
the working environment or condition has on the Puerto Rico Police Department Officers. The basis of the topic is to be able to benefit society by encouraging police officers to contribute more to their jobs and may help them in their personal growth and development. Hence, it is essential for the Puerto Rico Police Department to motivate their employees to work hard for achieving the organizational goals and objectives (Ortiz, 2013). As such, there is a need to analyze the impact of working environment on Puerto Rican law enforcement agents job satisfaction. For this the variables that will be analyze are: working conditions (i.e.,salaries, organizational goal creation, profession growth openings), job satisfaction, relationship with colleagues (i.e: teamwork, communication), and individual performance. The topic is relevant for survey research because it intends to collect small bits of information from a diverse group of people with the overall goal of establishing a general conclusion (Driscoll, 2011). In other words, it is a topic that wants to reveal the opinions, experiences, and behavior (Driscoll, 2011, p. 163) of people with regard to their role in improving working conditions to have better job satisfaction among personnel of the organization. The proposal will use a quantitative methodology. Data will be collected through a self-administered survey questionnaire. The questionnaire will be adopted from previous validated surveys. The target population consists of law enforcement officers from the different divisions that the Puerto Rico Police Department has. References Driscoll, D. L. (2011).
