OBJECTIVES
Simplify the given Boolean expression and to realize it using basic logic gates and
universal gates.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this experiment, students will be able to:
o
o

To be able to implement the combinational logic circuit

To be able to construct the universal property of NAND and NOR gates

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

IDL-800 Digital Lab Unit

IC type 74LS32 OR gate
IC type 74LS08 AND gate
IC type 7400 quad 2-input NAND gate
IC type 7402 quad 2-input NOR gate
IC type 74LS04 hex inverter

PROCEDURES
Design a combinational logic circuit with a single output that will serve as an
auto buzzer circuit as shown in Figure 1. This circuit should output a HIGH
signal (to sound a buzzer) for each of the following conditions:
If the drivers door is open and the keys are in the ignition
If the seatbelt is not buckled, headlights are on, and the keys are in
the ignition
If the headlights are on and the keys are not in the ignition
