Aquamarine.
Aqua is the variety of pale blue-green beryl as emerald. It is a much appreciated
gem in jewelry for its hardness, allowing a wide range of cuts. Its color and
brightness reminiscent of sea water.
Where do we find Aquamarine?
Aqua composed of beryllium is found in magmatic rocks of granitic composition.
Indeed, this originates from the mineral phase pegmatite, at temperatures between
1000 C and 600 C. They can also be formed in hydrothermal deposits.
Countries with higher production of Aquamarine
Aquamarines producers are Brazil, Argentina, Afghanistan, Austria, France, China,
Kenya, Madagascar, Russia, Tanzania and Canada. Beautiful aquamarine crystals
are in Dasu, Pakistan, one of the most sought aquamarines.
The largest aquamarine stone found in history was in 1910 in the city of
Marambaia in Brazil, weighing 110 kilos and dimensions of 48,5cms long and 42
cm in diameter.

its price can exceed 800 euros per carat.

1.47 carats per 88 euros or a cushion-cut aquamarine 29.90 carats more than
12,900 euros.
