Passo 1 At the Airport

Passo 2 To the Bus Station

Everything was so different from England, the weather specially, it was great! That warm
sun and the fresh breeze just made him want to spend a nice day at the park, or have
some ice cream. Whereas in London at this time, I would be having a steaming hot
coffee! thought Peter.

The traffic wasnt as intense as in London, and the cabs were white, not yellow! I
wonder if I had a white car people would get me confused with a taxi! he thought to
himself.

Passo 3 At the Hotel

The hotel was located close to the mountain, right after the downtown part of the city. It
was a small building with 4 floors and a beautiful entrance sign that read Hotel Bom
Sossego. The entrance hall was very cozy. It had a country style counter with a bell and
behind it there was a shelf holding all the keys and each had a room number. At the
other side, there were stairs and an elevator, and beside it a small potted plant. There

were armchairs and a coffee table in the middle of the room, and an attendant soon
came to join them. She was wearing a white shirt covered with a wine colored vest and
black pants which gave her a very neat look. After the check in, they went upstairs to
the bedroom. The first thing to be noticed was the window view. Such an amazing view
of the mountain! On one corner of the room was the TV and beside it a fireplace. On the
other corner was the bed. It was big and soft with nice white sheets. There was also a
sofa and a small table and next to it, the bathroom. The bathroom was neat and it had a
big mirror and a bathtub! Downstairs, the restaurant had many tables and a wonderful
smell was coming from the buffet. The food consisted of various items like rice, beans,
feijoada, lasagna, pasta, and all kinds of salads and natural juices. And for dessert there
were delicious typical Brazilian sweets like pav, quindim, aa and brigadeiro! This was
really a trip that Peter would never forget!

Passo 4 Monte Azul

After a wonderful meal and a quiet night of resting, Peter and Nara went hiking on the
mountain.

Have you ever done this before, Nara?

No, but Im sure it will be a very interesting experience!
Yes, indeed! Monte Azul is a very beautiful mountain, with lots of vegetation and
many different types of insects and other animals. I am taking my camera so I
can take pictures of everything!
Great idea!

They started climbing the mountain along with a group of tourists who were also very
excited to begin the journey.

This is a very rocky path, and ahead we can already start seeing the various
types of plants.
Look at the view of the city from up here! Lets take a picture, Peter.
Yes, look at that bird making its home on top of that tree.
Its called Joo de Barro and it is much known for making its nests out of mud.
Fascinating! And look at those ants carrying the leaves back to their anthill!
Yes! Were finally at the top! Lets rest and drink some water, Peter.
And then, down the zip line!
That truly is a very exciting activity! Arent you scared? Because I sure am!
Dont worry, Nara, everything is very safe. Well be tied to a rope and then to the
cable. After that, its just enjoying the wonderful view of the mountain as you go
down very fast!

And after that exciting trip up and down the mountain, Nara and Peter went back to the
city to continue enjoying each others company.
