horizontal analysis, or trend analysis. Horizontal analysis is facilitated by Methodology and References
showing changes between years in both Rupees/Dollars and percentage
form, Trend Percentage: Horizontal analysis of financial statements can also
be carried out by computing trend percentages. Trend percentage states
several years’ financial data in terms of a base year. The base year equals
100%, with all other years stated in some percentage of this base. Vertical
Analysis: Vertical analysis is the procedure of preparing and presenting
common size statements. Common size statement is one that shows the
items appearing on it in percentage form as well as in dollar form. Each item
is stated as a percentage of some total of which that item is a part. Key
financial changes and trends can be highlighted by the use of common size
statements, 2. Ratios Analysis: Accounting Ratios Definition, Advantages,
Classification and Limitations: The ratios analysis is the most powerful tool of
financial statement analysis. Ratios simply mean one number expressed in
terms of another. A ratio is a statistical yardstick by means of which
relationship between two or various figures can be compared or measured.
Ratios can be found out by dividing one number by another number. Ratios
show how one number is related to another.
Research Methodology Research simply means a search for facts ~ answers
to questions and solutions to problems. Itis a purposive investigation. Itis an
organized inquiry. It seeks to find explanations to unexplained phenomenon
to clarify the doubtful facts and to correct the misconceived facts. A
hypothesis is a proposed explanation for an observable phenomenon, The
term derives from the Greek word - hypotithenai meaning "to put under* or
“to suppose”. For the present study it is proposed to have following
hypothesis: Null Hypothesis: Most of the investors prefer return as their
investment criteria rather than risk, liquidity and safety of principal ete.
Alternate Hypothesis: Most of the investors dont prefer return as their
investment criteria rather go for either risk or liquidity or safety of principal
etc. Data Collection: PRIMARY DATA To get the information about the study, a
survey is conducted considering number of respondents. Respondents are
selected by using random sampling technique. Samples will be chosen as
various possible investments or funds under a portfolio. Data has to be
collected through questionnaire mainly considering various age groups, their
risk perception, risk appetite, safety of principal, liquidity etc. Keeping this
view in mind we followed a simple method of selecting respondents -
following the method of “Simple Random Sampling”. The respondents are
selected randomly. 50 respondents are selected for the study. References
