Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

The funding would be used for general investigation of Port Everglades Harbor, including peer
review. A feasibility study conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has determined
that in order to serve Port Everglades' current and future shipping tenants, deeper and wider
channels are required. The Port has been working with the Army Corps of Engineers since
1997 on a feasibility study to determine the most effective way to deepen and widen Port
channels. The study will recommend widening and deepening the Outer and Inner Entrance
Channels; the Main Turning Basin; and the Southport Access Channel (including the Turning
Notch), a possible new turning facility at the intersection of the Dania Cutoff Canal and the
Intracoastal Waterway, as well as improvements on the Dania Cutoff Canal.

I certify that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Sincerely,

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

fiscal year 2010.

The entity to receive funding for this project is:

Florida A & M University
1601 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd.
Tallahassee, FL 32307

The funding would be used for a spheromak-type reactor, which could generate energy from
fusion at a much lower cost and greater efficiency than tokamak-type reactors since it would
require far fewer magnets. A spheromak reactor would be less difficult to construct and less
expensive to maintain since it is much simpler than a tokamak. New scientific advances in
physics offer tools for longer lasting and hotter spheromak plasmas. These areas would
benefit all of fusion science and technology.

Dear Chainnan Visclosky:

I am requesting funding for Methanol Economy. The entity to receive funding for this
project is the University of Southern California, located at 3720 South Flower Street,
Third Floor; Los Angeles, CA 90089. The funding would be used to develop the
chemistry to directly convert natural gas (methane) to methanol, which is one of the
significant chemical challenges of the 21st century. The program also researches
methods to convert carbon dioxide into methanol using any alternative source of energy.
Under the leadership of Nobel Prize winning chemist Professor George Olah and other
leading experts in the field of hydrocarbons, USC's goal is to develop a renewable source
of energy that can help replace U.S. dependence upon fossil fuels (oil, gas, and coal), and
to recycle carbon dioxide into new fuels and materials while mitigating manmade effects
on climate change. I certify that I have no financial interest in this project.
