William Shakespeare is considered to be the most famous and influential author in

English literature, whose works are studied all over the world. Without his plays there would be
void in libraries and Verona would be just a regular small town in Italy.
The magnificently written Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is a lyrical tragedy which
lives through the centuries and illuminates eternal beauty in the treasury of world literature.
Under Verona's blue sky, the young people fell in love with each other. On the way to the
happiness, they encountered disagreement and hatred from their families. Romeo and Juliet were
powerless against fate and after the unequal struggle they became aware that they were destined
to failure. Their fatal love full of promises led to the downfall and happiness turned into sorrow.
They died in a cruel world, but their love was stronger than death and death united them. A
monument on their grave is the memory that is burning an everlasting flame of love.
The act Romeo and Juliet presents a timeless hymn of love. Although it is given in the
images of the distant past in a Renaissance atmosphere, its motive of love is close to peoples
hearts in all parts of the world, at all times. Romeo and Juliets love became a symbol of a great
love.
