Wat 15; 15) 1 15) NY 1D) IlSTOP POT...AGAIN
In this upcoming election, Americans will make major decisions,
not only concerning political leaders, but also concerning various
amendments. Once again, in Florida, we face a “Trojan Horse" in
the promotion of medical marijuana, which cracks open the door
for the complete legalization. Cannabis has been called joints,
reefers, weed, grass, pot, and so on. Vote against Amendment 2.
A proposal in 2014, fell just two percentage points short of the
60% majority needed by the pot coalition
Medical marijuana is already legal in Florida under the
Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act of 2014, which allows for
the use of non-smoked, low-THC cannabis for patients with
cancer, certain seizure disorders, and those who are terminal.
Amendment 2 would expand the list of options and include
stronger, smoked versions of the drug and its distribution
through pot dispensaries. Having spent time in Colorado over
the last few years, | can attest that the expansion of such facilities
leads down the road to addiction, vagrancy, and a host of
emotional problems, including erratic behavior, loss of memory,
distortion of time and spatial perceptions, and other
manifestations. Users are more accident prone and susceptible
to car accidents. Psychic dependence can lead to antisocial
behavior. It is particularly a bridge to harder drugs.
The Bible condemns sorcery, which includes mind-altering drugs
(Deuteronomy 18:10-12; Revelation 22:15). Itis no accident that
Daniel and his friends, though restricted in freedom in a foreign
land, refused the king's wine and drank water and ate vegetables
to make themselves strong (Daniel 1:8). Perhaps they
understood the truth about the dangers of alcohol in Proverbs
23:29-33. Under the Lordship of Christ, we view our bodies as
“the temple of the Holy Spirit" (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). While
you may not jump up and down about certain political
candidates, you can certainly take a stand on this basic issue and
vote. faut bpUPCOMING EVENTS | |
