Objective: Find the Surface area of a Cylinder

Material: Nets of a cube

Procedures:

1. Explain to them that Surface Area is a measure of the total area that the surface of the object
occupies.

2. Count the total small squares in one of the nets of a cube. Then multiply it by 6, because there
are 6 equal nets in a cube.
There are 16 small squares in one net x 6 = 96 squares. Therefore, the Surface area of a cube
in the example is 96 square units.
