Dracula spotted at Whetley!

Dracula Flies in!
Early yesterday afternoon, Mr
Jackson was shocked to see an
uninvited guest trying to get into
Whetley Academy.
At approximately 7:15pm yesterday
afternoon, Mr Jackson, a local
pensioner and caretaker, was
locking down the shutters when he
spotted Count Dracula.
Reports suggest that he flew in
disguised as a bat - landing silently
on the Year four roof.
Perched there, still and silent, he
transformed back into a man. Upon
seeing him Mr Jackson awoke,
demanding,
What time do you call this? Ive just
locked those shutters. Dont you
have something better to do?
Hearing this, Dracula sank his teeth
into Mr Jackson, transforming him
into a creature of the night.
Mr Jackson has not been seen since
but several people have reported
hearing terrible moans echoing
through the Year 4 corridor.

In a separate incident today, the children in nursery spotted a werewolf lurking near
their playground. The creature appeared to be carrying a small orangutan in its
mouth. Mrs Finel spotted the werewolf immediately. She later told reporters, I will
not have noisy werewolves interrupting our children and so I approached it carefully,
grabbed it by the ear and led it out of the front gate.
The werewolf was then seen running down Whetley Lane and into Morrisons, where
it bought; a large, juicy steak; a bottle of ketchup; and family-sized, half-price bottle
of Coca Cola.

The reason why Halloween is celebrated is disputed. Some believe it originates from the Celtic pagan festival of
Samhain, meaning 'Summer's End' which celebrated the end of harvest season.
Gaels believed that it was a time when the walls between our world and the next became thin and porous,
allowing spirits to pass through, and damage their crops. Gaels would also offer food and drink, and light bonfires
to ward off the evil spirits. The origins of trick or treating and dressing up were in the 16th century in Ireland,
Scotland and Wales, where people went door-to-door in costume, asking for food in exchange for a poem or song.
