Spratly Island Interview

Mr. Serafin S. Salazar, an assistant city prosecutor at the Pasay City

Hall of justice gave me the privileged to have an interview with me. Mr.
Salazar are very hospitable and gladly answered my interview questions.
What is your stand about the territorial dispute in the South China
Sea?
Mr. Salazar said I believed that the Philippines has the rightful claim
with the respective islands contested by China or other countries, and
following the constitutional provision of the Philippines, those islands are part
of the territory of the Philippines. China in refusing to have this claim heard
by the proper international authorities, they cannot lawfully claim rights of
this territory. In doing so, they are refusing to the peaceful means, and there
are using their might, one of the so-called super power of the world in
bullying small countries like the Philippines. The problem is that the China is
one of the major authorities in the United Nations, kaya medyo nahihirapan
tayo in seeking or invoking the United nation.
What do you think our government should do to claim Spratly Island?
Well, the government should always be resorting to peaceful means
by invoking the authority of the United Nations, bringing the matter to
international arbitration. Of course, war or any violent reaction regarding this
matter should be resorted to as the last means, as much as possible we all
want peace to settle this problem.
