Hurricane Matthew was category five hurricane that, after recently moving through the

eastern coast of florida, came to South Carolina on October eighth. But, an evacuation order was
issued to Horry County by state governor Nikki Haley on October fifth. On October fifth, I
promptly did what all teenagers would do with a two day school week and slept to makeup for
the lack of sleep from school. After mostly sleeping for that wednesday, I had my friend Cain
Lee come pick me up and go with my friend Harry Todd to Market Commons to see a horror
movie, but we realized that the movie was rated R and since Harry and I all look we hadnt
grown past the age of thirteen we didnt get to see the movie. The entire situation was
disappointing at first but thankfully Harry was hungry and decided we all needed to get P.F.
Changs. After that, we all went home and on Saturday Hurricane Matthew came to my area. I
didnt go out that day for obvious reasons and the next day I woke up with no electricity in my
house. I wasnt very smart with the lack of power in my house, I used up all of my phone battery
before the day was over expecting the power to come on before the day was over. On late
Sunday, the power came back on and with it my will to go on with life. However, throughout the
two days without power I argued with my parents that the only reason I needed the power back
was so I could do my homework for school, although that was not the reason I just wanted to get
back on my phone.
