Diagram Instant Activity, The class will be broken up into two teams of eight, joined in a circles holding hands. Both teams will have a hula hoop on their interlocked hands. The goal is to bring the hula hoop around the entire team the fastest. However, I will be giving each team 3 minutes to see how many times they can bring the hula hoop around the team. 2 Minutes Transit Students will return to their polyspots in the formation, where we will discuss the activity set for the day. Sct Induction 3 Minutes Last week, we talked about locomotor skills and how they connected to animals. Today, we are going to talk about the Rules of the Road, and how we can use these skills. Secondly, we will talk about how important it is to have personal space. What is personal space? ‘Students will then be given a hula hoop, and be told to space out in the given boundaries before further instruction. Now, here are the signs of the road. When you hear me shout a sign, you will do the skill that goes with it. Understand? Here are the signs/signals: Speed Limit 30: WALK Rain: Drop the hula hoop and move arms up and down Stuck in the mud: Jog in Place Out of Gas: Drop and Sit Flat Tire: Hop Bumpy Road: Skip Purpose: Students will be able to connect locomotor skills to outside conce} i pts, such as spacial awareness.. ‘Start/Stop Signals: Hand up in the air to count down (this makes students put hands up and have eyes on me by the time I count down to one). Transition: Students will move into the space in their “cars” (hula hoops) and wait to begin on my go. Lesson Core - Task 1: 12 Minutes: ‘Students are fo spread out within the designated space where they are to follow commands that I will be shouting out in duration of the activity.
