Canine Spaces

The canine, or infraorbital space, (Fig. 13-16) is the potential space that lies
between the levator anguli oris muscle inferiorly and
the levator labii superioris muscle superiorly. The source of infection is the
maxillary canine or first premolar in which the purulent exudate breaks through
the buccal cortical plate and the apex of the tooth lies above the attachment of
the levator anguli oris muscle.
