1 Existe vrias formas de dizer a idade de uma pessoa:

(a) BE + (NUMBER)
Example

Significado

I am twenty-five.

Tenho vinte e cinco anos.

He is ten.

Ele tem dez anos.

She is twelve.

Ela tem doze anos.

(b) BE + (NUMBER) + YEARS OLD

Example

Significado

I am twenty-five years old.

Tenho vinte e cinco anos.

He is ten years old.

Ele tem dez anos.

She is twelve years old.

Ela tem doze anos.

(c) BE + (NUMBER) + OF AGE

(em linguagem formal)

Example

Significado

He is twenty of age.

Ele tem vinte anos de idade.

She is thirty of age.

Ela tem trinta anos de idade.

(d) (NUMBER)-YEAR-OLD

(adjectivo)

Example

Significado

a ten-year-old boy

um rapaz de dez anos

a fifteen-year-old girl

uma rapariga de quinze anos

a fifty-year-old man

um homem de cinquenta anos

Note que year encontra-se na forma singular.

(e) AT/BY/BEFORE/UNDER THE AGE OF (NUMBER)
