Presentation Plan

They are only 60 months old.

1. Media to be used:
a. White Board
b. Projector (apple)
c. Pointer
d. Music (Morning CDMrs.Cash)
e. Speaker
(bluetooth?)
2. Feelings you are trying to
evoke
a. Id like to evoke
happiness. I am aiming to
make this a funny
presentation, kindergarten is
funny-and I would like to keep
it that way.until the end,
then I am pulling the emotional
rug out from everyone.
3. Summary of how you will
use artifact:
I would like to use my artifact as a teaching tool. Alliteration?
I am aiming to write and illustrate my own book with all the children in the
book. I would like to incorporate these little teaching skills in the text of the
book I will create. (This concept is a work in progress) This artifact began as
a collage of things Ive collected in class, but I cant figure out a way to make
this concept more worldly so I am going a different direction.
4. Step
a. What are you going to do or say first?
I will first introduce myself, Because I am trying to bring in the classroom
atmosphere, I will begin with our morning meeting. We will sing a few
songs-say our names, etc.
Once weve done our morning message I would like to go through our
schedule of the day This will outline my entire presentation for my
audience, and also remind me of time.
Good Evening Boys & Girls, My name is Ms. Courtney and this evening we
are going to experience the magic that is Kindergarten. I got my first
kindergarten photo, I will display this throughout my presentation. (I was
once 60 months old too.)
b. What are you going to say second?
i. I would like to talk about my experience
teaching various subjects, what I was strongest at-and
what needed work. Here is where I will introduce my

artifact and talk about its importance, and what I was

thinking while making it.
ii.
In kindergarten we have story time, I
would like to incorporate this story into our schedule and
read it to my audience, just as I would my students.
iii.
I would like to see everyone's eyes, we
have a story, written and illustrated by me, Mrs. Lastiyano.
Follow along and watch as I read a story about my
adventures in kindergarten!
c. Third? (read this, show that, have people stand and
clap rhythmically?
i. After we are done with the book, I would
like to move on go over my role in the classroom, focusing
on literacy and emergent spelling in our classroom. Quality
work-from quality students. I think this is important to see
because we dont get to open the school, so getting to let
my audience see how we handled getting some children to
write and read would be important. It would also be great
to tie in with my artifact.
5. Feedback/Evaluation/closure stage:Whats going to
happen at the end? How are you going to facilitate the
meaning (not cursory, not merely polite) Participation of your
audience?
Here is where I will ask for feedback. POPCORNS (kinder jargon)
from there, once I answer my audience, I will begin my closing,
which will be what we call compliments.
-I will be handing out mindful animals (just like we do in class) as
compliments to certain audience members. (8 in total...currently) If they
have any questions I would like them to ask in the form of my
kindergarteners. I am trying to bring as much of the classroom as I can with
them.
In our kindergarten class, we work on keeping our kids mindful, to do so, it
requires a mindful animal. We have six mindful animals-they are bestowed a
few times throughout the day to the child who show us they are sitting
appropriately and ready to learn.
Today, Id like to carry that on,
My first animal I would like to give to Mrs. Cash, for showing me that
teaching is more than lesson plans. She also gave me everything I needed
this semester to become the teacher I am wanting to become. Shes a great
friend, and mentor and I am grateful to have had such an amazing person to
teach me how to teach. Thank you Mrs. Cash

This next set of animals goes to my friends, Jasmyn and Cassie.

Thank you both for being the support system I needed, and the family that
youve become for me. You have no idea how much youve really helped my
harder days pass. I love you both so much and I couldnt ask for better
college sisters.
My next animal goes to my grandparents. Shorty and Jocelyn Lewis and Rose
Peynetsa
Thank you. I cant say it enough. You all have done just about everything for
me. From my first days in kindergarten to these last days in college, I cant
express how grateful I am to each of you. Im lucky to have you all in my life
and I am happy that you could all be here to see this happen. Which brings
me to my next compliment
My aunt, uncle and cousins. Feather, Lander-Ariki, Tiryn and Ceres.
Thank you. Thank you for checking in on me when I needed people to talk to.
Kids, thank you for being my testers for when I needed to try out a lesson
plan, or an activity. Thank you for being there to lend a hand. This will be you
in a few years, and I will be more than happy to return the favor.
My boyfriend Mackenzie, and his family.
Thank you for all that youve done. You all have been so encouraging and I
want to thank you for that. Youve also blessed me with this wonderful man
right here. His calls and trips up saved me sometimes. I love you all very
much and I am so glad you could come.
To my sister Krystyna,
Blee. Since day one, you were my brightest student. I know in our profession
we are not supposed to have favorites, but Im going to reveal something
mine was always you. Thank you, for the comedic relief, the counseling
and the family updates, being far away from home wouldnt have been as
easy without your little updatesand your baked goods in the mail. I love
with everything I have and I want you to know that without a sister like you,
all of this wouldnt be possible.
Mom and dad.
In the past four years, Ive gotten to see firsthand how important a strong
family is. Thats what youve given me. I joke and tease about how I was
shoved into a good education, but the truth is, education was never not an
option. Since I was little, I can remember you both saying, When you go to
college., when you become a teacher. Without you, and your caring, I
highly doubt I would be standing here right now, and I want to thank you
from the bottom of my heart. You were my first teachers, and I have to tell

you that youve both left a lasting impression on me. Its hard not to cry, you
both know me. But Thank you.
So with that, I would like to close my presentation. Again,
Without any of you, this day would not be possible. Youve all had part in
turning me into the Teacher that I am becoming and I feel so blessed for that.
Thank you for coming to witness this presentation.
6. Uses of your statement:What is my work? And/or: Who am I as a
teacher?
a. How will you influence your actual presentation?
I will use my what is my work as the final piece to my closure, I think ending
with this statement would tie all loose ends that my presentation may have.
I think I could also use it under there *second thing to say*
to help aid my statements in what I do, and why its important.
Who I am as a teacher could open my PEX. But I think I would prefer using
these statements at the end of my presentation.
