1. How do you feel about the physical & social environment of the institution?
The place was very simple, not that big and not so small either. The
room didnt have any astonishing features, just the usual office you
see. When we entered the place, they were very hospitable to us and
they didnt make us feel uncomfortable at all.
2. What about the life stories shared by the staff/residents struck you the most? In what
way did it affect you?
The story shared by Jethro, a 16 year old volunteer in KKFI for Likharal,
had struck me the most. Even though the teachers were late for their
classes, the students still eagerly waits for them because of their
enthusiasm to learn. We, as college students should portray that also. I
learned that as we get older, we should still have the love for learning
as younger people do.
3. What could our government and other concerned agencies do to deal with the said
issue/s?
Regarding the problems on poverty, health, and education, I suggest
that the government should be more active. They should also give
importance to small sectors of our community. They should start with
the small parts in helping the nation so that everyone will feel the
development and changes the government brings to us.
4. How can you strengthen your faith in humanity?
By doing small acts too. To make others feel that we still have hope.
That feeling will pass through individuals and they will do small deeds
too. It is like a ripple effect the gets larger and larger. If you want
change, start with yourself and people will change for the better too.
