Red Cross / Red Crescent: The Red Cross and Red

Crescent Societies is the worlds largest humanitarian


network that reaches 150 million people in 190 National
Societies. What they do is they help people who are injured
in accidents and help improve the lives of vulnerable
people.
Doctors Without Borders: They help people worldwide
where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical
aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or
exclusions from health care.
Greenpeace: Greenpeace is an independent global
campaigning organization that acts to change attitudes and
behavior, to protect and conserve the environment and to
promote peace by creating an energy revolution, protecting
the worlds ancient forests, defending our oceans,
campaigning for sustainable agriculture and creating a toxic
free future.
YWCA/YMCA: Is Ottawas leading resource for health,
fitness and recreation, childcare, camping and outdoor
education, and social services. It improves health of
individuals, promotes child and youth development,
facilitates individual self-reliance, and develops healthier
communities and vital neighbourhoods.

Citizens for Local Democracy (C4LD): was a nonpartisan, citizen action group that emerged in December

1996 to oppose provincially-imposed municipal


amalgamation on seven Toronto-area municipalities.

International PEN: PEN International is the worlds leading
association of writers, working to promote literature and
defend freedom of expression around the world.
