Answering Strategy
1. Text type and format You are asked to write a short article. There is no fixed format for an
article, but the content should be in the form of an opening, a main body and a closing.
2. Genre It is an expository writing. You are expected to suggest some ways to relieve work
pressure for the readers.
3. Language and formality The article is to be published on the government department website
so the readers will be the public. The language does not need to be very formal, and a friendly
tone may be used to persuade readers to adopt your suggestions. The article should be written
in the simple present tense and modals like can, should, etc. can be used.
4. Organisation You should include background information, a number of suggestions to relieve
pressure and some final advice in the article. Topic sentences and supporting details should be
provided. You can use cohesive devices to link up the sentences and paragraphs to make the
article more organised.
5. Topic and vocabulary The topic of this article is pressure and health. You should have enough
