Bingo

Children put their hands in a


sack/box, hold an animal
figure (without looking),
press it, hear its sound then
say its name. Then sort the
animal figures into groups
(wild pets farm) animals in
the correct places (barn
jungle house).
Teacher calls out words and
children mark off the
corresponding pictures on the
bingo sheet.

Pupils stand in rows (no


desks), facing the board so
they can see the flashcards
of the target vocabulary.
They take two steps left, clap
and say the first word, two
steps right, clap and repeat
the word, again to the left,
clap and say, then back to
the centre and do a wiggle.
They repeat the sequence
with each of the new words.
Pupils place picture and word
cards face down. They take
turns to choose one of each
with the aim of finding a
matching pair. The pupil with
the most pairs is the winner!
