Final Research Paper Assignment Prompt: Consider all the things we've worked on this semester, and choose a topic you are not only interested in but that will also make a compelling paper. The paper should be written for people who have a general knowledge of the topic, and should find a way to add to the conversation about that topic. Consider who your direct and indirect audiences are. What is the purpose of the paper? To inform? To persuade? If your attempt is to inform your audience, the information should be new, cutting edge. You need to be able to give information that a reader with a general knowledge of the topic may not know. Do not write a research paper that is a regurgitation of general facts or outdated material, We've worked hard to critically think, closely read, and effectively write in this class. You need to compile those skills and they should be evident in this paper. As this is a compilation of all the skills we've worked on, it should be obvious from your choice of sources that you closely read and chose the appropriate ones. Your organization should be clear, concise, and easy for a reader to follow. Your language should work to be its most effective. Remember, one of the biggest features I am looking for is an improvement in your style for this final essay. Edit! Details: * 8-10 pages.
