I am writing this letter to recommend John Xiong to your fine university. I am an English
teacher at El Capitan High School in Merced, California. I had the pleasure of having
John in my English 3 class last year. I believe he would be an excellent addition to any
college fortunate enough to have him attend.
John Xiong is an ideal student and fine young person. John is very mature for his age
and extremely hardworking. He works daily in the food court at our school, but has
never let that interfere with his academic performance. During his time in my class, John
showed up ready to learn as well as determined to give his best effort each and every
day. His grade never slipped below a B throughout his time in my class. I could count
on him to help those around him as well. His citizenship and kindness towards others
was second to none. Overall, he was an asset to my classroom and a role model for
other students.
Once again, I highly recommend this student to your respected university. John Xiong is
a generous, sincere, and ambitious young person. He is an exceptional student and I
believe he deserves the opportunity to attend an exceptional school.
