imprisonment in connection with the use of death sentence

In this graph you can appreciate the increase in the enforcement of death
sentence through time, it has increased until late nineties and then decreased
steadily to the present
Number of Homicides

Number of Imprisonments

If we compare the years when the level of executions reached their highest
point, with the levels
of imprisonment and homicides we can realise that death sentence doesn't
promotes a positive
change in the levels of crime. With this we can prove that there isn't an
aparent deterrence
among the people that commits high level crimes, just as mentioned by the
opposing group,

these levels seem to increase in some cases.
