The Ecosystem Theory was introduced by Russian psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner

in 1979. Generally the theory explain the influences within the environment of the
child that shapes his growth and development. 1 In his Theory Bronfenbrenner
establishes the biological paradigm to which he has two main propositions. First is
that human development takes place through processes of progressively more
complex reciprocal interaction between an active, evolving biopsychological human
organism and the persons, objects and symbols in its immediate environment 2 he
the further added that the effectivity of such interactions is contingent on the
regularity of its occurrence. The Second he proposes that the form, power, content
and direction of the proximal processes effecting development vary systematically
as joint function of the biopsychological characteristics of the developing person
and of the environment.3
